Over a three-year period, we all prepare for one final exam which will determine if all our hard work was worth it. Being in the literature section, we study mainly history and languages. We are currently studying five main subjects namely History-Geography, Biology-Physics, French, Spanish, English and we also have optional subjects such as Advanced Spanish, Advanced English, Portuguese and Creole and last but not least History of Arts. At the end of this school year, in June, we will be tackling French, Biology and Physics . In the following year, we will study Philosophy and it will be adapted to the rest of our examination.
Maëlle
This year in 'Première', we have been trained for the exam of June 2017. In French we have studied different texts illustrating four main sequences :
- The woman: a source of poetical inspiration
- Poetry and quest for meaning
- The characters in the novel
- The issue of man in the genre of argumentation
Our school work is manageable but in regard with my absences I had some difficulties following the school curriculum. I hang on and I think with a little more seriousness and hard work I would be ready for the French exam.On the contrary, In Biology, I feel comfortable but it is going to be a little complicated in Physics. I would not say that by now I am totally ready.
Mélissa,
So far, we've learnt about several writers. We read books such as "La Princesse de Clèves" by Mme de Lafayette, or the last one we studied "Pantagruel" by Rabelais. We studied excerpts, lettres, poetry, novels and plays. For this French exam taking place in two parts, the first part is oral and the written part is another day. Then, we have one in Biology-Physics. The following year is our last year of secondary school or high school with our final exam called 'Baccalauréat'.
In Physics and Chemistry, we study the energy, how to help mankind with renewable energy ressources, how to feed the upcoming generation and we also learn about the eyes (the scientific approach of each individual's sight). During the year, we had a mock exam each term to prepare for the final exam.
Quentin
At the end of the year, we will have to sit for an exam with only two subjects : French Literature and Biology-Physics (their marks will be carried into next year's final exam). We all had a School-Based Assignment, I worked with Stephane and another student on Sports and its negative aspects.
